The Adelante Initiative is a platform used to evaluate manual labor work practices and improve on them. Our objective is to reduce the harmful effects of heat stress and CKDu among the sugarcane workforce by standardizing work practices. The Adelante Initiative is based on the learnings from the Worker Health and Efficiency Program (WE Program) and previous Occupational Health Program efforts by the San Antonio sugar mill.
